Yunus Social Business Uganda, in cooperation with Development Organisations, as well as other partners, have launched the Second Accelerator Program in Uganda with a call for on-line applications starting on February 10th 2016 to March 10th 2016. This program is a unique opportunity for new entrepreneurs to develop personal and professional skills, test their business ideas, receive mentoring from national and international experts and access finance as well as a global community of inspiring Social Business Entrepreneurs. YSB Uganda is part of the Yunus Social Business global network, which has already engaged in creating, financing and providing continuous assistance for a number of successful social business and aspiring entrepreneurs accross its global footprint.
Uganda has been plagued with social problems in the Health, Education, Energy, Agricultural and Gender sectors. Government, the private sector, and the NGO world have made contributions in solving them. However, Yunus Social Business - Uganda seeks to sustainably solve these social problems, with you as the Right Partner, using a Social Business Model that blends the merits of the NGO world, and Commercial Enterprise.
A social business is a non-dividend company created to solve a social problem. Like an NGO, it has a social mission, but like a business, it generates its own revenues to cover its costs. While you may recoup your investment, all further profits are to be reinvested into the same or other social businesses you may incept.
We look forward to engaging and partnering with you to solve Uganda’s Social Problems in a sustainable way.
YSB Team – Uganda.
